Sun Spots on the Water

Monday I set out to paint bundled up in my 'San Diego' winter clothes, (just about everything warm I own), joining several other painters along the edge of the harbor.
The clear air and cold temperatures gave a sparkle to the dancing light which I quickly chose for my composition.   The blinding light soon moved away when the sun rose higher.

This week I warmed up my chilly studio by painting a sunny view in Florence taken a few years back.  I liked the challenge of keeping the Duomo light and inviting, the way I remembered it.  Next visit there, I will be sure to set aside enough time to go in, instead of running by!  Will you be joining me?
